Our Big Story
Picture This: It’s Monday and there is a concert at The Gorge on Friday.
It’s a 6 hour drive to the venue from where you live and The Gorge is known for the epic experience of camping on the night of the concert. You realize you don’t have all the camping gear you need and you simply don’t have the time or energy to gather it all in the next 3 days. So, you do a quick google search for “small trailers in Portland” to see if there is something you can rent for the weekend that is already equipped with the camping essentials (and the shelter of course). To your surprise you find a teardrop trailer that is available to rent and immediately book it.
When you receive the booking confirmation you are asked a few simple questions: 1) Do you have a 2” ball hitch? 2) 4-pin or 7-round connection? 3) What is your hitch height?
ummmmmm…what?????
You have no idea what any of those terms mean and start to reconsider your grand idea to rent a trailer. Until, a company like Tiny Trailers PDX enters the scene and takes away all of the guessing and researching behind towables. This is where our company was born - out of the desire to offer a camping experience of a lifetime without the google-searches and last minute scrambling on amazon to get the equipment you need. Alex Timberlake
Born in Hawaii and raised in Oregon, Alex has vivid memories of the diverse outdoor adventures her and her family would take together. From RV road trips that crossed multiple state lines, to rustic cabin ski vacations, to tent-camping on a sandy beach…she loved it all! The change in landscapes and the exposure to various climates has been something Alex has grown to not only enjoy but appreciate. Providing renters with a vessel that allows them to so quickly and easily explore any part of this beautiful Country is a passion and dream all in one!
Mel Timberlake
As a native of South Lake Tahoe, camping, boating, and snowboarding are in the majority of Mel’s childhood memories. To Mel it felt like Tahoe existed FOR outdoor adventures and spending time indoors wasn’t something to even consider. She knows the hard work and preparation that goes into a camping weekend and wants to show people that with a Tiny Trailer in tow, your trip just got that much easier!
